Paris Saint-Germain Defeats Marseille in a Shootout to Secure Trophee des Champions Super Cup in the Middle East.

PSG players celebrating

PSG has now secured the prestigious cup on 14 separate times.

Paris Saint-Germain required a dramatic leveler followed by a successful spot-kick decider to get past their arch-rivals in the Gulf and capture a fourth straight French Super Cup victory.

The Champions League holders seemed to be coasting towards a comfortable triumph in the match featuring the French league winners and the Coupe de France winners after Ousmane Dembele opened the net early on.

However, the southern French side struck two times late to seize a shock lead. First, the English forward scored from the penalty spot, before Willian Pacho inadvertently directed the ball into his own net for an own goal.

In a breathtaking twist of events, the Portuguese striker snatched a crucial leveler in the dying moments to send the contest into a deciding shootout. PSG goalkeeper Chevalier then stood as the hero, saving crucial kicks from Matt O'Riley and Traore.

From the spot, Ramos, Vitinha, Nuno Mendes, and the young talent all scored with composure for Paris Saint-Germain to seal a convincing shootout win.

Now 14-time winners Paris Saint-Germain, who faced last season's Ligue 1 runners-up Marseille after achieving a domestic double, have now lifted this trophy for the 12th time in the last thirteen seasons.
